트리비아 몇 가지

 

After meeting with Dr. Michael Burry, the character he would play in the movie, Christian Bale asked to have Burry's cargo shorts and T-shirt, which he then wore in the movie. Bale later said he hoped Burry would make it to the L.A. premiere, "because I really want to sit next to him and see if he's going to punch me in the fucking face."

크리스찬 베일은 그가 <빅 쇼트>에서 연기한 실존인물인 마이클 베리와의 미팅 후, 마이클 베리에게 그의 바지와 티셔츠를 줄 수 있느냐고 물었고 이후 영화에서도 입고 나왔다. 크리스찬 베일은 마이클 베리가 LA 프리미어에 참가해주기를 바랬는데, "왜냐면 난 그의 옆에 앉아서 그가 내 얼굴을 한 대 치는 걸 보고 싶었기 때문"이라고 밝혔다.

The quotation that appears on screen, "'Truth is like poetry. And most people fucking hate poetry.' -Overheard at a Washington, D.C. bar" was in fact written by director and co-writer Adam McKay after unsuccessfully searching for the perfect quotation to use for that segment of the film.

<빅쇼트>에서 나온 인용문 "'진실은 시와 같다. 그리고 대부분의 사람들은 시를 싫어한다' - 워싱턴 D.C의 어느 바에서 들은 말"은 사실 감독 아담 맥케이가 쓴 말이다. 그는 영화에 사용하기 위해 완전한 인용문을 찾으려 했지만 결국 찾지 못했다.

 

 

Christian Bale does not share screen time with any of the other top-billed cast members.

<빅쇼트>에서 크리스찬 베일은 여기에 나오는 초호화 캐스팅 배우들 중 누구와도 함께 나오는 씬이 없다.

According to Adam McKay just prior to the start of filming Christian Bale badly injured his knee. Due to the injury and doctors' advice McKay wanted to use a double for Bale's drumming and swimming scenes but the actor still insisted on doing the scenes himself. Eventually the director agreed but for the recording of the drumming scenes he decided to bring in two doctors who, for the duration of the shoot, were in their surgical scrubs ready to perform in case anything happened to Bale. 

아담 맥케이에 따르면, 크리스찬 베일은 촬영을 시작하기 전 심각한 무릎부상을 당했다. 그의 부상 및 의사의 조언을 참고하여 아담 맥케이는 크리스찬 베일의 극 중 드럼 연주신과 수영신에 스턴트를 쓰기를 원했으나, 크리스찬 베일은 본인이 찍을 것을 강력히 주장했다. 결국 아담 맥케이는 드럼 연주신을 촬영할 땐 크리스찬 베일이 두 명의 의사를 대동하고, 촬영 중 발생할 수 있는 만약의 사태에 의사들이 조치를 취할 준비가 되어있도록  한 뒤에야 승낙했다.

 

 

<빅 쇼트> 속 허점들

1. When Mark talks to his wife on the phone, we can see a bus stop ad for the television show "Stitchers", which wasn't created till 2015. 

마크 바움(스티브 카렐)이 그의 아내와 통화할 때, 버스 정류장에 텔레비전쇼 "Stitchers"의 광고가 붙어있는데 이 프로그램은 2015년까지 방영된 적 없다.

2. Steve Carell's character was wearing Rolex watch model 116610 which wasn't introduced until 2010. 

극 중 스티브 카렐이 차고 있는 롤렉스 시계의 모델은 116610인데, 이 모델은 2010년까지 출시되지 않았다.

3. In the flashback scene of Burry playing football as a child, as he is helped from the field, there are rubber crumbs from field turf on his arm. Field Turf wasn't invented until the late 1990s and was not available for use for recreation sports until almost 10 years later. This scene is supposed to have taken place in the late 1980s.

마이클 베리의 회상씬에서 어릴 적 그는 풋볼을 하고 있는데, 그가 필드에서 나올 때 그의 팔에 필드터프(인조잔디)에서 나온 고무조각이 있다. 필드터프는 1990년대 후반까지 발명되지 않았고, 거의 10년 후까지 레크레이션 스포츠에 사용되지 않았다. 이 장면은 1980년대 후반을 배경으로 하고 있다.
